Meet the Author: Desmond Lomax

After two decades navigating the intense and complex world of corrections—from Correctional Officer to Therapist to State Director—Desmond was no stranger to structure, leadership, and human behavior. But retirement didn’t mean slowing down. With excitement and curiosity, he stepped into a new arena: Corporate America.

In this eye-opening and often surprising book, Desmond shares his unique perspective on life inside two vastly different systems—prisons and corporations—and reveals the unexpected ways they mirror each other. Through personal stories, professional insights, and a touch of humor, he explores themes of power, communication, leadership, and transformation.

Whether you're a seasoned professional, a curious reader, or someone navigating change, Desmond’s journey offers valuable lessons and a fresh lens on the worlds we work in. With excitement and joy, Desmond ventured out into the corporate world after 20 year career working in the Prison environment. From Correctional Officer to Therapist to State Director, Desmond saw many aspects of the work. Now retired, he was going to experience a different side of work. Corporate America. This book shares some of his experience in both settings and how they have more in common than you would think!!
